In the famous book, The Major Sins written by the martyred scholar Ayatullah Sayyid Dastghaib ash-Shirazi, he wrote the following concerning the sin of listening to and indulging in music (this has been listed as sin number 15 in his monumental work): Music as stated in Greater Sins, Sin 15 In the religion of Islam and the Fiqh of the Ahl al-Bait عليهم السلام, listening to forbidden music has been counted as one of the major sins. I routinely take scanned sheet music in PDF format and convert that to Sibelius format using Neuratron Photoscore's music OCR (optical character recognition) capability.
There is a great deal of public-domain classical music available in MusicXML, Finale, or Sibelius formats at and elsewhere, so if you have a method for converting those files into MusicXML and from that into Braille, that would be workable.
The blind prophet sheet music software#
I have no direct experience here, but there are several projects underway to translate musical pieces that are in the open-source MusicXML data format (which can be exported from music notation software such as Finale and Sibelius) into Braille sheet music.
